When I hear the music of Antonín Dvořák, I hear the colors of life.
Dvořák was born on September 8, 1841 leaving this life May 1, 1904. He was one of the first Czech composers to achieve worldwide recognition. His music framed rhythms and various threads of the folk music of Moravia and his native Bohemia. His style has been described as "the fullest recreation of a national idiom with that of the symphonic tradition, absorbing folk influences and finding effective ways of using them."
It was such fun to play this piece of music - and to feel Dvorak beat to life in our hands and hearts.
I hope this performance, though played some time ago, will bring a smile to you!
